Michael J. Smith, FAIA, LEED AP

Michael provides business and design management leadership in the Yazdani Studio, on projects all over the world. He has 36 years of experience in a broad array of project typologies spanning education, healthcare, hospitality and commercial markets.

Michael has led some of the firm’s most significant healthcare and public sector projects and many of his collaborative projects and articles have been widely published and recognized in numerous award competitions. Throughout his career, Michael has served on municipal and university design review boards and has taught construction technology at Woodbury University. He was appointed by the Mayor of Los Angeles to the Angelino Heights Historic Preservation Board and chaired the acclaimed Los Angeles Conservatory’s Architect’s Own Homes Tour.
