Margi Kaminski, ASID, NCIDQ, CLGB
Co-Director, Health Interiors Practice
Connecting people and ideas to the healthcare environment through empathy, inspiration and design – that’s what I consider my life’s work. Creating spaces that promote health and well-being is my passion, and working with like-minded clients that want to explore the impact of design on the healthcare environment is what inspires me to reach higher.
As co-director of CannonDesign’s Healthcare Interiors Practice, Margi supports market initiatives and strategy, focusing on business growth and client engagement. With over 30 years of experience in practice, Margi has lead a wide range of notable projects for many of the healthcare industry’s leading systems. Her expertise also includes working alongside practitioners — giving her a unique, practical perspective from the provider side of healthcare. Margi’s work is characterized by a strong aesthetic sensibility tempered by a deep understanding of operational and functional concerns. She is a frequent speaker at leading healthcare industry conferences and has been the recipient of design awards from ASID and Contract Magazine.
Margi is most passionate about Experiential Design and how it shifts the focus from a static snapshot of the environment to a dynamic journey through the environments of where people heal, work and live. Through this lens, we are able to consider interpersonal relationships and how they impact a space, such as the connection of a patient to their caregiver – truly, a 360-degree approach living-centered design. How exciting to be part of a movement that asks us to consider the myriad of perspectives that will impact the spaces we design!
