Lighting design is a perfect combination of creativity, math and science. I am constantly striving to create beautiful, integrated design solutions while working within rigid parameters such as budget, energy efficiency and functionality. While they present countless challenges, there is no better satisfaction than finding a solution and seeing it built.
Kate St Laurent is the national leader of the award-winning CannonDesign lighting Studio and has compiled a deep portfolio in higher education and corporate commercial projects from 1,000 to 700,000 sf. With a second degree in interior design, Kate is able to speak the designer’s language to integrate lighting in creative, collaborative ways.
