Upgrading Los Angeles Airport’s Dynamic Terminals

Los Angeles International Airport, Terminal Cores and Automated People Mover Interface, Los Angeles, CA

The Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Landside Access Modernization Program encompasses the design and build of three new terminal cores at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Specifically, the project will create two new cores between Terminals 5 and 6 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal and one upgraded connection at Terminal 7. The terminal cores consist of new and upgraded facilities to provide staircases, escalators, elevators and walkways to connect LAX terminals with a new Automated People Mover (APM).

LAWA selected gkkworks/CannonDesign as part of an Integrated Design-Build team for the project. Our team has developed and is part of a progressive integrated project delivery approach with architects and technical staff co-located with our construction team including document control coordinators, project engineers, and estimators to form a cohesive design-build team.
