To promote social welfare, health and well-being, we are creating a Medical City exemplifying Healthy, Smart, and Sustainable Community tenets on 212 acres of land in the Gulf Region. The client created a consortium of regional and global experts for the engagement, CannonDesign is leading the strategic master planning efforts for the new 17 million square foot, state-of-the-art Medical City.

The strategic master plan exemplifies best-in-class urban planning principles.  The mixed-use community contains integrated transportation, open/public space, recreation, residential, commercial, conferencing, and robust healthcare programs.  The Medical City is phased and will ultimately include a 750-bed hospital including several centers of excellence advancing local specialty healthcare services as well as serving as a medical destination for patients from neighboring GCC countries.
