California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo needed to expand and renovate its recreation center in order to relieve increasing demands on campus recreation facilities while also bolstering student recruitment and retention. The university realized this need as an opportunity to create an integrated recreation center that could also serve as a dynamic focal point on campus.

The resulting solution renovates the existing center and introduces a powerful addition with a two-court gymnasium, a one-court MAC, racquetball courts, running track and additional fitness and administrative areas. The facility achieved LEED Gold by implementing a broad range of key sustainability measures.
