Our philosophy

We create civic destinations that help define a community’s identity, instill a sense of pride and support meaningful interactions among citizens.

Perhaps more than any other building type, civic and community buildings remind us that the work we do is for people—our friends, our neighbors and our families. Across the country, we’ve been fortunate to have designed a number of landmark community buildings and spaces, ranging from museums and courthouses to community centers, sports venues and libraries. Regardless of the day-to-day purpose of the building, we take the time to understand what community means to the local population and create a physical response that strengthens the human experience and becomes a lasting civic asset.
