Mark WhiteleyMark Whiteley and Jill Kurth will co-present, “Planning research facilities when users aren’t identified yet,” at SCUP’s Vancouver conference. Kimberley A. Patten from Steinberg, and Edmundo Soltero from Arizona State University complete the panel.

About the session: Institutions struggle to plan for research needs when users are not identified or hired. Institutions need the tools to create and implement a framework for decision making that goes beyond flexibility to align metrics, budget, Jill Kurthfinancial impact and outcomes, and the ability to project timeframe for cost recovery. This session will give examples from multiple institutions that strategically and physically planned modern research facilities when user involvement was not possible.
