CannonDesign principal and business practice leader, Gustavo Lima, AIA, OAQ, LEED AP, will be participating in a panel discussion at the UB Center of the Arts on Friday, October 6 at 8:30 am.

The panel, titled “Building a Brighter Future for Buffalo: Academic Medical Centers and Why They Matter,” will focus on the impact of academic medicine on patient care, medical education and research as well as on the opportunities and challenges associated with these facilities.

Lima, an alumnus of UB, will share his expertise in leading the design and construction of major healthcare projects, namely, the recently opened Centre hospitalier de l’Universite de Montreal (CHUM). This 3 million sf academic medical center is the largest healthcare construction project currently being built in North America.
