CannonDesign leaders are set to deliver two presentations at the 2017 World Design Summit in Montreal on Oct. 18 and 19. The summit, an unprecedented international gathering of diverse disciplines with a common focus on leveraging design to shape a better future, will unite design professionals, government and business leaders, industry representatives and media from around the world to focus on design’s ability to solve global challenges. Specifically, our team will be part of the following sessions:
- On Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 8:30 a.m., David Polzin will join Azad Chichmanian to present, “Hospital as Generator of Change,” an in-depth look at the design and creation of the Centre hospitalier de l’universite de Montreal (CHUM. A project impressive in architectural quality, scale, urban renewal, public art integration and more, the CHUM is one of the most dynamic urban healthcare projects in the world.
- On Thursday, Oct. 19 at 10:30 a.m., Scott Dansereau will present, “The Olympic Folly,” a look at how permanent host cities for the Olympic Games would eliminate waste and inefficiency of the current system while providing a platform for the world’s designers to exhibit their work, test new materials, techniques and strategies for the built environment.
