Are you a non-profit with a design challenge or a designer [architect, engineer, graphic designer, strategist, artist, policy maker, grant writer, marketing professional, web designer, consultant, videographer, IT professional…] who wants to help a deserving organization move their mission forward? Then join the Chicago Open Hand Studio and our partners at Meet & Match to celebrate socially responsible design for all and connect with others to create impactful results.
Meet & Match provides opportunities to develop strong partnerships between design professionals offering services and non-profit organizations with design challenges. Join us for an evening of food, drinks, and success stories with CannonDesign. Match up your design challenge with design skills and take the conversation wherever you and your new friends decide. Some challenges may be solved on the spot, some may turn into projects that go beyond. The adventure starts at Meet & Match.
We would encourage you to pass on this information to other designers or organizations that you work with who value bridging the gap between the design professions and the communities in which we live and work.
Feel free to reach out to Emma Cuciurean-Zapan eczapan@cannondesign.com for more information.
CannonDesign started Open Hand Studio in 2009 to bring design services to those who would otherwise lack access to them. As part of this initiative, we host an annual Meet & Match where we invite the design community to meet the non-profit community and match design services to need as a catalyst to develop the critical connections necessary to moving our city forward. The first Meet and Match was held in Chicago in 2010 and has since been successfully carried out in San Francisco, Buffalo, St. Louis, and Boston. This year, we are excited to once again bring together enthusiastic Chicago designers (architects, engineers, graphic designers, strategists, artists, policy makers) and local non-profit organizations together to commit to long lasting collaborations that can benefit these deserving organizations and our city.
GOALS:
- To celebrate the successful, socially responsible initiatives and projects already happening in our city.
- To connect individuals with organizations dedicated to providing design services for the public good.
- To advance the mission of deserving non-profits through access to the design professions.
EXPECTATION: Meet & Match participants will be open to providing their expertise and collaborating with others to address the needs of deserving non-profit organizations.
OUTCOME: Create lasting partnerships that lead to impactful projects and initiatives in our communities.
