Hyatt Place Peña Station Opens in Denver

We are proud to share Hyatt Place Peña Station/Denver Airport opened its doors and welcomed first guests last week. The project and its opening was covered by local media and met with rave reviews.

The new hotel features 226 guestrooms, event space, a bar with local drinks and mountain views, fitness center and pool, and a resident Golden Retriever puppy named Denver to greet guests. This is the first hotel to open in Denver’s Peña  Station NEXT, a “smart city” that re-imagines traditional community pillars—corporate offices, multi-family residences, healthcare, retail, hotels—as hubs for environmentally progressive, transit-oriented innovation. The 382-acre development will offer 1.5 million sf of commercial space, 500,000 sf of retail and 2,500 residences. It connects the adjacent Denver International Airport to Denver Union Station, and is anchored by the Peña Commuter Rail Line.

“Denver’s Peña Station NEXT is a new kind of global showcase community and we couldn’t be happier to provide visitors with a memorable hotel experience in such a connected destination,” said Susi Keating, general manager of the new hotel. “This new hotel is the most evolved version of Hyatt Place, offering guests an elevated experience while they stay with us. Our location is key – Hyatt Place Pena Station is the only hotel directly on the RTD A-line, making it juts an eight-minute train ride to DIA and less than 30 minutes to Denver Union Station.”

The hotel has been designed to embody Peña Station NEXT’s vision for smart, sustainable, connected living. The seven-story, 225-room hotel fronts onto 61st Street, accessible by the light rail station one block away, a planned pedestrian corridor, and new driverless electric shuttles. Guests will enjoy an energetic first floor filled with social and professional amenities, including 3,500 sf of meeting space, an independent coffee shop, 24-hour fitness center, indoor pool, gaming area, library and business center. A large bar includes an operable wall that will open to the outside, connecting patrons with the active, tree-lined outdoor design.

The Hyatt Place adds to our growing roster of Denver-area hospitality projects also including The Jacquard Hotel & Rooftop, Grand Hyatt Denver, and Halcyon Hotel among others.
