The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), its members, network of LEED professionals and community leaders, acknowledges CannonDesign’s significant contributions to green building leadership in its annual list of the Top 10 States for LEED, noting our Chiaravalle Montessori School project.
“Above all, we strive to showcase impactful LEED projects as part of our campaign, and Chiaravalle Montessori School North Wing is included as one of the standout certifications in 2016, contributing to Illinois’ rank – No.3 on our list,” states the USGBC.
Chiaravalle Montessori School North Wing is believed to be the first LEED Platinum addition to a Montessori school in the United States. Sustainable features include natural daylighting throughout the building, photovoltaic panels, a green roof that efficiently manages stormwater, and a geothermal system funded by the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation.
